Proposed 2024 national budget nailatag na sa plenaryo ng Senado
Walang pagbabago sa mithiin ng isinusulong na pambansang pondo sa susunod na taon.
Ito ang sinabi ni Sen. Sonny Angara sa kanyang sponsorship speech para sa 2024 P5.768 trillion national budget.
Ang pondo ay 20 porsiyento ng gross domestic product (GDP) ng bansa.
Sinabi ni Angara na hindi naman nagbago ang layon ng pambansang pondo at ito ay alinsunod sa eight-point socioeconomic agenda ng administrasyong-Marcos Jr.
Dagdag pa ng namumuno sa Committee on Finance, nakatuon din ang pambansang pondo sa pagpapalakas ng kapabilidad ng bansa sa usapin ng pambansang seguridad at sobereniya at integridad ng ating teritoryo.
“We believe that despite some limitations, the budget meets this benchmark. And with our collective improvements and amendments, we have endeavored to make it even better. For we are not here, Mr. President, to simply ratify what the other branch has proposed. But to enhance it, fill in its gaps, correct its weaknesses and cure its shortcomings. To do nothing less than what the Constitution and our constituents expect this august chamber to do,” ani Angara.
