BuCor mas maraming bagong babaeng correction officers

Sa isang linggong selebrasyon ng ika-118 anibersaryo ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) bahagi nito ang pagtatapos ng 502 bagong correction officers.
Binubuo ng 311 babae at 191 lalaki ang mga bagong correction officers na sumailalim sa pitong buwan na Corrections Officers Custodial Basic Course.
Ilan sa kanila ay criminologists, licensed teachers, civil engineers, electrical engineers, theologist, psychometrician, medical technologist, radiologist, nutritionist, pharmacist, nurses, social workers, civil service professionals at iba pa.
Sila ay nagmula sa anim na penal colonies ng kawanihan.
Sa mensahe naman sa kanila ni BuCor Dir. Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang sinabi nito na nais niyang maging mas makabuluhan ang kawanihan sa pamamagitan ng pagtulong sa gobyerno sa food security programs.
Binanggit niya ang kinikita ng BuCor na P20 milyon hanggang P22 milyon mula sa pagpapa-upa ng lupa sa Davao Prison and Penal Farm sa Tagum Agricultural Development Co., Inc (TADECO).
Nais din niya aniya na maibalik ang buong respeto at tiwala ng mamamayan sa BuCor.
Samantala, 500 preso ng New Bilibid Prison sa Muntinlupa City ang inilipat sa Davao Prison and Penal Farm bilang bahagi naman ng pagpapaluwag sa pambansang piitan.
