Nakawan sa Custom-sealed warehouse nabulaga, 77 naaresto
Nasorpresa ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs – Intelligence and Investigation Service ang 67 Filipino at 10 10 Chinese sa pagsalakay sa isang bodega sa Pasay City.
Sinabi ni BOC-Customs (CIIS) Director Verne Enciso ang bodega sa M. Acosta St., Barangay 77 ay una na nilang sinalakay at sinelyuhan dahil sa mga “counterfeit goods,” partikular na ng mga sapatos, damit at bag.
“We received information from a well-placed asset that there was an ongoing theft in a Pasay warehouse we have previously sealed and padlocked. This warehouse had been subjected previously to a Letter of Authority (LOA),” ani Enciso.
Kasama ang mga tauhan ng CIIS-Manila International Container Port (CIIS-MICP) at BOC- Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) sinalakay nila ang bodega at nabulaga ang mga suspek.
Naaktuhan nila ang mgha ito na ibinababa na sa unang palapag na gusali ang mga kumpiskadong bagay.
Bukod pa dito may mga naisakay na rin sa isang L300 close van (TNP 882).
Sinabi naman ni Customs Chief Bien Rubio agad na ipinatigil sa mga suspek ang kanilang ilegal na ginagawa.
“This operation only goes to show the extent of the BOC’s mandate. More than stopping these illegal activities and seizing contraband products, we must also be at the forefront of ensuring that these seized items will remain in our custody until the cases are done and we are instructed by the proper courts on how to go about disposing or liquidating them,” paliwanag niya.
Tiniyak naman ni Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Juvymax Uy na wala pang nailabas na ng mga kontrabando.
