Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano sa DICT: Kumuha ng dagdag na cybersecurity experts
Dahil sa sunod-sunod na pag-atake sa websites ng ilang ahensiya ng gobyerno, hinikayat ni Senator Alan Peter Cayetano sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na dagdagan ang kanilang cybersecurity experts.
Sinabi ito ni Cayetano sa pagpapatuloy ng pagdinig ng pinamumunuan niyang Committee on Science and Technology ukol sa mga iinsidente ng “websites’ hacking” at “data breaches.”
“Are there enough cyber security experts in the DICT and in government? Baka kasi may fund na ibinibigay for counter attacks, but there are not enough experts in government.” ani Cayetano.
Huling naging biktima ng hackers ang testing site ng DICT.
Ibinahagi naman ni Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center Deputy Executive Director Mary Rose Magsaysay ba sa ngayon ay mayroon silang 55 experts, karamihan ay cyber technologists.
Pag-amin na lamang din ni Magsaysay na hindi sapat ang naturang bilang.
Dagdag naman ni DICT spokesperson Renato Paraiso na mahirap makapagkumbinsi dahil sa malaking agwat ng suweldo ng mga nasa pribadong sector.
“We can’t blame them for wanting to provide for their family. It’s not for everyone, but there are really hot career choices na kung hindi tayo makipag agawan sa gobyerno ay mapupunta sila sa private sector o abroad,” pahayag pa ni Cayetano.
