P3.84B education college subsidy fund inilabas ng DBM

Inaprubahan ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman ang paglalabas ng P3.84 bilyong Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) para sa subsidiya ng 141,000 estudyante sa kolehiyo.

“Tulad po ng lagi kong sinasabi, our youth are the torchbearers of our future. That is why it’s important that we support them by developing their skills and uplifting their spirits. ‘Yan din po ang marching order ng ating Pangulong Bongbong Marcos dahil alam niya ang kahalagahan ng edukasyon. So, on our part po, we will continue to help democratize access to quality education,” pahayag ni Pangandaman.

Ang halagang inilabas ay ilalaan para sa mga babayaran ng CHED na iba’t ibang Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) sa mga munisipalidad at lungsod na walang State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) at Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs)’ sa ilalim ng UAQTE-TES para sa Academic Year 2021-2022.

Hanggang noong Disyembre 31, 2022, ang CHED-Higher Education Development Fund (HEDF) ay nasa P10.967 bilyon sa ilalim ng Automatic Appropriations.

Nauna na ring nagpalabas ang DBM ng halagang P799.098 milyon noong Pebrero 3, 2023 para sa iba’t ibang programa at proyekto ng CHED at halagang P1 bilyon para sa pagpapatupad ng Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Program noong Agosto 29.

Bunsod nito, ang tinatayang balanse pagkatapos ng release noong Setyembre 29 ay nasa P5.33 bilyon.
