Simula noong nakaraang Oktubre 20 tinaasan na ng Social Security System (SSS) ang Funeral Benefit Program sa mga miyembro nito.
Ayon kay SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Rolando Ledesma Macasaet, makukuha ang naturang halaga depende sa laki ng kontribusyon ng miyembro.
“The new guidelines provided under SSS Circular 2023-009 aim to incentivize active membership by raising the maximum amount of funeral benefit to P60,000 and streamline the provision of funeral benefits to claimants, especially for surviving legal spouses,” pahayag ni Macasaet.
Makukuha rin aniya ang naturang halaga kung nakapaghulog na ng 36 buwan o higit pa.
Nasa P12,000 naman ang makukuha ng isang miyembro na pumanaw na at nakapaghulog lamang ng isang buwan o hindi lalagpas sa 36 buwan.
Sakop ng funeral benefit ang embalming services, burial transfer services at permits, funeral services, cremation o interment services, pagbili o pagrenta ng kabaong, pagpapagawa ng nitso o pagbili ng memorial lot/columbarium, memorial/funeral insurance plan.
