Kinalampag ng climate campaigner ang komapnyang Aboitiz at JERA ng Japan dahil sa pagtataguyod sa fuel gas.
Ayon kay Lidy Nacpil, coordinator ng Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) at convenor ng Asian Energy Network (AEN), nakadidismaya at tinatangkilik ng dalawang kompanya ang fossil gas.
Nabatid na ang JERA ang pinakamalaking power generation company sa Japan.
“JERA’s energy strategy is deceptive and dishonest. Instead of phasing out fossil-fuels, this company covers up its transgressions by promoting false solutions to the climate crisis, such as LNG plants and the use of fossil hydrogen and ammonia. Aboitiz Power is actively complicit in supporting these technologies and fals esolutios in the Philippines,” pahayag ni Nacpil.
Nabatid na ang JERA ang sponsor sa ginaganap na Singapore International Energy Week.
Taong 2021, nabili ng JERA ang 27 percent stake ng AboitizPower sa halagang USD1.46 bilyon.
Hayagan ang pagsuporta ng dalawang kompanya sa liquified natural gas kasama na ang fuel sourcing.
