National fiber backbone connectivity tatapusin sa 2026
Kukumpletuhin ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang national fiber backbone connectivity sa taong 2026.
Ayon kay Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary Jeffrey Dy, sasabayan ito ng libreng Wi-Fi connections sa lahat ng barangay.
Kasabay nito, iniimbitahan ng DOCT ang mga negosyante sa bans ana makiisa sa Internet connectivity projects ng pamahalaan.
“The National Fiber Backbone is now 70 percent (accomplished) in Luzon. Ang target is by 2026 matapos natin from North Luzon to Mindanao and hopefully we are also inviting investors so that they can establish additional cable landing stations off the tip of Mindanao as a redundancy kasi most of our cable landing stations are actually concentrated in Luzon and then there are a few in Visayas,” pahayag ni Dy.
Ngayong, 70 percent nang kumpleto ang proyekto sa Luzon, sinabi ni Dy na sisimulan na ng DICT ang Phase Two at Three ng proyekto kung saan aarangkada ang procurement activities ngayong taon at sa susunod na taon sa Visayas at Mindanao.
Sabi ni Dy, nasa 110,000 sited ng libreng Wi-Fi ang itatayo ng DICT.
Nagkakahalaga aniya ito ng P50 bilyon.
