Agham at BIR Road, tatawagin ng Senator Miriam P. Defensor Santiago Avenue
Ganap nang batas ang Republic Act No. 11963 o ang pagpapalit ng pangalan ng Agham Road at BIR Road sa Quezon City bilang Senator Miriam P. Defensor-Santiago Avenue.
Ito ay matapos mag-lapse into law at payagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na maging batas ang panukala.
Nakasaad sa Article VI, Section 27 ng Konstitusyon na magiging batas ang isang panukala kapag hindi nilagdaan ng Pangulo sa loob ng 30 araw mula nang matanggap ng Office of the President.
“The Department of Public Works and Highways shall issue the necessary rules, orders and circulars to implement the provisions of this Act within 60 days from its effectivity,” saad ng batas.
Magiging epektibo ang bagong batas 15 araw matapos ang publication sa Official Gazette o mga malalaking pahayagan na mayroong general circulation.
Pumanaw si Santiago noong Setyembre 2016 dahil sa sakit na cancer.
