Ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Uganda palalakasin

Pagtitibayin pa ni Pangulong  Marcos Jr. ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng Pilipinas sa Uganda. Sa presentation of credentials ni Uganda non-resident to Philippines Ambassador Betty Oyella Bigombe, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., na magkapareho ng landas ang tinatahak ng dalawang bansa tungo sa pag-unlad. “It’s a great pleasure for us to welcome you as the Ambassador from the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of the Philippines, and I hope that during the time you will be with us, you will be able to find many ways to strengthen the relationship between our two countries,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. “We are very much in the same path, our two countries, and therefore, I think the experiences and lessons that we have learned along the way will be of benefit to both our countries so long as we keep our partnership strong and our alliances very profound and alive, ” dagdag pa nito. Karangalan naman para kay Bigombe na magsilbing ambassador sa Pilipinas dahil matagal na relasyon na ang dalawang bansa. “The Republic of the Philippines and Uganda are on the same path of delivering economic development to their people given their recent high growth witnessed in the past,” pahayag ni Bigombe. Nabatid na ang embahada ng Pilipinas sa  Nairobi, Kenya ang mayroong administrative jurisdiction sa Uganda. Si Marie Charlotte Tang ang kasalukuyang  non-resident Philippine ambassador to Uganda. Noong nakaraang taon, nasa US$4.04 milyon halaga ng naging kalakalan ng Pilipinas at Uganda. Top export ng Pililinas sa Uganda ang  electrical machinery and equipment and parts, sound recorders at reproducers, television image at sound recorders at reproducers, at parts and accessories; plastics; at iba pang made-up textile articles. Gayundin ang  miscellaneous edible preparations; oil seeds at oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds, at prutas, industrial o medicinal plants; straw at fodder. Kumukuha naman ang Pilipinas sa Uganda ng mga produktong  essential oils at resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic o toilet preparations; paper at paperboard; at iba pang produktong papel.
