Office of the Solicitor General isinuko ang secret fund

Sumunod na ang Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) sa tatlong ahensiya na ipinaubaya na lamang ang kanilang confidential fund sa ibang ahensiya na mas higit na nangangailangan nito.
Sinabi ni Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra, P19.2 milyon ang dapat na kanilang 2024 confidential fund ngunit aniya maluwag nilang tatanggapin kung sakaling bawiin ito at ibigay sa mas nararapat na ahensiya.
Ito na rin ang naging tugon ni Guevarra sa katanungan ni Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III kung may pangangailangan sa “secret fund” ang OSG.
Una nang nagpa-ubaya ng kanilang confidential fund ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at Office of the Ombudsman.
Natanong din ni Pimentel si Justice Sec. Jesus Crispin Remulla kung maaring mailagay sa “line item” ang confidential fund para sa Witness Protection Program (WPP), na P1 bilyon para sa susunod na taon.
Sagot ni Remulla, hindi maaring ibunyag ang ibang detalye ukol sa WPP at aniya ang pondo ay para sa safehouses, pabuya sa mga impormante at iba pang gastusin ng mga testigo.
