P50 milyong pondo para sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda, inaprubahan na ng DBM

Inaprubahan na ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman ang Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) at Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) na nagkakahalaga ng P50 mikyong pondo para sa Department of Agriculture.
Gagamitin ang pondo para sa implementasyon ng Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Program ng Republic Act 11321 (Sagip Saka Act),” na pinondohan sa ilalim ng 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Sabi ni Pangandaman, gagamitin ang pondo para makamit ang hangad ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda na nakaangkla sa Philippine Development Plan 2022-2028.
“Food security will remain a government priority. Increased funding will be provided for the Department of Agriculture’s major programs… Alongside the development of land-based agri-industries, the government shall also spur the growth of aquaculture,”pahayag ni Pangandaman.
Sa ilalim ng Sagip Saka Act, inaatasan ang Department of Agriculture na magsulong ng mga hakbang at inisyatibo kaugnay ng enterprise development upang palakasin pa ang entrepreneurship culture ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda. Ang mga inisyatibong ito ay humantong sa pagbuo ng Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Program.
May tatlong tinatawag na focus areas ang programa at ang mga target na resulta ng implementasyon nito: Inclusive Agribusiness Development upang matulungan ang mga magsasaka at mangingisda na maging tunay na business partners sa agro-industry players; Agripreneurship Capability Enhancement na layong mapagbuti ang capacity-enhancing support services, halimbawa, sa finance, training, at technology; at Enterprise Development Services para palakasin ang agri-fishery enterprise development services ng DA.
