71% ng jeepney rider sa Metro Manila ayaw sa taas-pasahe
Mayorya ng mga pasahero sa Metro Manila ang tutol na magkaroon ng pagtaas ng pasahe sa jeepney.
Sa isinagawang social media survey ng The Passenger Forum (TPF), 71 porsiyento sa mga sumagot ang kontra na madagdagan ang pasahe.
Sinabi ni TPF Convenor Primo Morillo patunay lamang ito na wala nang budget para sa pagtaas pa ng pasahe ang mga pasahero.
“This confirms what we have been asserting that the government should look for other solutions such as continuous and effective fuel subsidy for PUJs rather than simply giving the go signal for a fare increase,” ani Morillo.
Pinuna nito ang pagpayag ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa taas pasahe matapos simulan ang pamamahagi ng P3 bilyong fuel subsidy sa public utility vehicle (PUV) operators.
“As the main rationale for the fuel subsidies is to cushion the effects of oil price hikes to the transport sector, it should also eliminate, or at least minimize, the need for fare hikes,” dagdag pa ni Morillo.
Aniya ang dapat gawin muna ng LTFRB ay ipaliwanag ang paghati-hati sa pamamahagi sa P3 bilyon.
