MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto may rape, death threats
Kinondena ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ang rape at death threats kay Chairperson Lala Sotto kasunod nang pagsuspindi ng ahensiya sa noontime show ” It;s Showtime” ng ABS-CBN.
“Over the past weeks, we have experienced an unfortunate surge in threatening messages on our official social media pages, including explicit rape and death threats directed at Chairperson Lala Sotto,” ang pahayag ng MTRCB.
Puna ng ahensiya inulan ng mga pagbabanta ng netizens ang kanilang social media pages kasabay nang pagpapahayag ng kanilang saloobin ukol sa suspensyon ng “It’s Showtime” dahil sa reklamo ukol sa sinasabing kalaswaan ng mga host na sina Vice Ganda at Ion Perez.
Dahil sa mga pagbabanta, nangangamba ang MTRCB sa kaligtasan at seguridad ni Sotto.
Ayon sa mga opisyal ng ahensiya, isang dedicated public servant si Sotto at kabilang sa kanyang isinusulong na adbokasiya ay ang kahalagagan ng respeto sa industriya ng showbiz at entertainment.
Pagdidiin din na hindi dapat personalin kung ginagawa ng MTRCB ang mandato nito alinsunod sa mga umiiral na batas.
