Ikinukunsidera ang posibilidad na madagdagan ang bilang ng Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) sites sa bansa.
Ito ang ibinahagi ni Indo-Pacific Command chief Admiral John Aquilino matapos ang ang Mutual Defense Board-Security Board (MDB-SEB) meeting sa Camp Aguinaldo kahapon.
Sinabi ni Aquilino na maaring irekomenda nila ni AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. sa kanilang mga opisyal ang pagdaragdag ng EDCA sites.
“General Brawner and I may make recommendations to our senior leaders for the consideration of additional sites but there is still work to do there before we get to that answer,” ani Aquilino.
May 63 proyekto ang nadagdag pa na ipapagawa sa siyam na EDCA sites bukod sa naunang 32 proyekto.
Ayon sa opisyal nakapagbuhos na sila ng $110 milyon para makatulong sa “capacity building” ng AFP sa mga tinukoy na EDCA sites.
