Ayuda programs ng gobyerno exempted sa poll ban

Maaring ituloy ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang lahat ng kanilang  livelihood at employment programs.

Naglabas ng memorandum si Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia upang mabigyan ng “exemption” sa “election spending ban” ang Special Program for Employment of Students, Government Internship Program, JobStart Philippines Program, DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program ng DOLE.

Hindi din sakop ng “election spending ban” ang special emergency employment program ng kawanihan, na nagbibigay trabaho sa mga benepisaryo, kabataan at sa mga nasa “marginalized sectors.”

Nilinaw din ni Garcia na maari pa ring ituloy ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno at lokal na pamahalaan ang kanilang “social services program” basta ipaalam lamang sa Comelec.

Kasama na dito ang pagbibigay ng medical, burial at food assistance programs.

Paliwanag ng opisyal walang intensyon ang batas na mahinto ang pagbibigay serbisyo-publiko tuwing “election period.”
