Pagbibigay ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., ng confidential fund kay VP Sara, labag sa batas
Kinuwestiyon ni Senator Risa Hontiveros ang napabalitang paglilipat ng P221 milyon mula sa Office of the President (OP) para magkaroon ng confidential fund si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sinabi ni Hontiveros na wala sa 2022 General Appropriations Act ang confidential fund ng OVP.
“Kung totoo at tama ang mga napabalitang report, dapat may managot sa unauthorized at malinaw na ilegal na pagtransfer ng pondo papunta sa Office of the Vice President noong 2022. These serious allegations and reports demand immediate investigation,” ani Hontiveros.
Paliwanag ni Hontiveros nakasaad sa Saligang Batas na maaring maglipat ng pondo ang pangulo ng bansa kung ang paglilipatan ay nakasaad sa GAA.
“So while it is true that the law allows the President – among certain other officials – to realign or transfer appropriations which have become ‘savings,’ these savings cannot augment a non-existent item in GAA,” sabi pa ng senadora.
