DTI, DA magpapakalat ng tauhan para magbantay sa presyo ng bigas
Magpapakalat ng tauhan ang Department of Trade and Industry para bantayan ang presyo ng bigas sa mga palengke.
Ayon kay DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual, pagtalima na rin ito sa Executive Order No. 39 ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na nagtatakda sa presyo ng bigas ng P41 kada kilo sa regular milled rice at P45 sa kada kilo ng well milled rice.
Ayon kay Pascual, makikipag-ugnayan ang kanilang hanay sa Department Agriculture, at sa local government units para ma-activate ang Local Price Coordinating Councils.
Sabi ni Pascual, sa ganitong paraan, mas epektibong maipatutupad ang mandated price caps sa bigas.
Sa Setyembre 5 magiging epektibo ang pagtatakda sa presyo ng bigas.
“We recognize the urgency of addressing the escalating rice prices in the market. In parallel, it is imperative to maintain stringent oversight over rice pricing and supply to preclude any potential hoarding and price manipulation by traders and retailers,” pahayag ni Pascual.
“To fortify our monitoring and enforcement mechanisms, the DTI will mobilize its price monitors and engage with Local Government Units (LGUs) to activate their Local Price Coordinating Councils,” dagdag ng kalihim
Makikipag-ugnayan din aniya ang DTI sa Philippine Competition Commission para makapaglatag ng kaukulang hakbang laban sa mga kartel na nagmamanipula sa presyo ng bigas.
Hinikayat ni Pascual ang publiko na ipagbigay alam kapag may nalaman na may mga negosyante ang nagbebenta ng bigas sa mas mataas na presyo.
