Bahay ni Cardinal Jaime Sin sa Aklan, gagawing museum
Gagawin ng museum ang bahay ng namayamang si Cardinal Jaime Sin sa bayan ng New Washington sa Aklan.
Ayon sa ulat ng CBCP News, nilagdaan na ang Memorandum of Agreement sa pagitan ng Diocese ng Kalibo at Serviam Foundation na nagsisilbing custodian ng bahay.
Nilagdaan ang MOA matapos ang misa na pinangunahan ni Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos noong Agosto 31 kasabay ng ika-95 na kaarawan ni Cardinal Sin sa Manila Cathedral.
Lumagda sa MOA sina Msgr. Rolando dela Cruz at Fr. Rufino Sescon Jr. ng Seviam Foundation at Biship Jose Corazon Tala-oc ng Diocese ng Kalibo at Fr. Justy More ng Historical Research, and Cultural Council ng Diocese ng Kalibo.
“We encourage them (Kalibo diocese) to make use of the house for their cultural heritage purposes,” pahayag ni Dela Cruz.
“With the establishment of the museum, the diocese aims to preserve the memory of Cardinal Sin, and educate future generations about his life and teachings,” pahayag ni More.
Nabatid na sinimulan na ang three-year preparation sa bahay niC ardinal Sin para sa ika-50 anibersaryo sa 2026.
Target ng diocese na ilagay sa museum ang koleksyon ng ecclesiastical artifacts at archival materials.
“We aim to provide visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about the significant historical events and tangible heritage that shaped the Diocese of Kalibo’s remarkable journey of faith,” pahayag ni More.
