Senate probe sa revised travel guidelines, tuloy – Zubiri

Sa kabila nang pagpigil ng Department of Justice (DOJ) sa pagpapatupad ng revised travel guidelines para sa mga Filipino, itutuloy ng Senado ang pagsasagawa ng pagdinig ukol sa isyu.   Ito ang ibinahagi ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri at aniya ikinalugod niya ang naging hakbang ng DOJ.   Ayon kay Zubiri kailangan pa rin maipaliwanag ng Inter Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACT) kung paano nila binalangkas ang kontrobersiyal na alintuntunin.   Banggit ng senador, kinikilala niya ang pagsusumikap na IACT na labanan ang human trafficking ngunit dapat ay hindi nalalabag ang karapatan ng mga Filipino na makabiyahe.   “Because there would be a secondary screening for some of the travelers whom they will subject to questioning. And these secondary screening will be done in private rooms. And what if they just agree to settle it in cash? It will be another layer of possible corruption,” pagpupunto ni Zubiri.   Ikinalugod din nina Majoirty Leader Joel Villanueva at Sen. Grace Poe ang ginawang pagpigil ng DOJ sa “travel guidelines” na dapat ay ipapatupad na sa darating na araw ng Linggo, Setyembre 3.
