Isyu sa WPS bibitbitin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa ASEAN Summit sa Indonesia

Sa pagdalo ni Pangulong Marcos Jr,m sa 43rd ASEAN Summit sa Jakarta, Indonesia sa susunod na linggo, isa sa mga isyu na kanyang nais matalakay sa pagtitipon.

Mawawala sa  bansa si Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa Setyembre 5 hanggang Setyembre 7.

Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Asec. Daniel Espiritu, ididiga ni Pangulong Pangulong Marcos Jr.,  sa ASEAN ang mga interes ng Pilipinas gaya ng pagpapalakas sa food at energy security, digital at creative industries para sa micro, small and medium enterprises at pagtugon sa climate change.

“In these engagements, the President will continue to uphold and promote Philippine interests in the ASEAN. He will highlight our advocacies in strengthening food and energy security, harnessing the potential of the digital and creative industries and micro, small and medium enterprises and addressing the impacts of climate change among others,” ayon sa opisyal.

“The President will also continue to emphasize our efforts to protect migrant workers in crisis situation as well as in combatting trafficking in persons especially with the use or abuse of technology. Other priority areas of cooperation with dialogue partners will also be discussed,” dagdag pa nito.

Itataguyod din aniya ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., ang rules-based international order kasama na ang United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) sa West Philippine Sea.

“The Philippines will continue to uphold and exercise freedom of navigation and overflight to the West Philippine Sea in accordance with international law,” pahayag ni Espiritu.

Inaasahang tatalakayin ng mga lider ng ASEAN ang ibat ibang international issues pati na ang impact nito sa rehiyon gayundin ang sitwasyon sa Myanmar, ang giyera sa pagitan ng Ukraine at Russia pati na ang geopolitical rivalries sa Indo Pacific Region.
