Dagdag 5,000 non-teaching positions sa DepEd aprub sa DBM

Inaprubahan ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang paglikha ng 5,000 non-teaching positions sa Department of Education (DepEd).

Ayon kay Budget Sec. Amenah Pangandaman, ito ay para mabigyan ng  sapat na manpower at masuportahan ang mga guro sa pagbibigay ng dekalidad na pagtuturo sa mga estudyante. “Under the leadership of our Vice President and concurrent DepEd Secretary Inday Sara Duterte, nag-release po ang DepEd ng roadmap— the MATATAG Agenda. Makikita doon pati ang mga kailangang tugunan natin in terms of buildings, teachers, facilities, etc. Nakalatag po lahat sa kanilang roadmap. So, we just want to be consistent with that,” pahayag ni Pangandaman. Aniya ang 5,000 items ay binubuo ng 3,500 Administrative Officer (AO) II positions na layong tanggalin sa mga guro ang administrative tasks na sumusuporta sa mga operasyon at 1,500 Project Development Officer (PDO) I positions na tutulong sa mga AO II at iba pang non-teachiing personnel sa pamamagitan ng pagpapatupad ng mga programa, proyekto at aktibidad na pinangungunahan ng mga eskwelahan o mandato ng DepEd Central Office. Makatatanggap ang mga nasa AO II at PDO I positions ng basic salary na nagkakahalagang Php 27,000 (SG-11) base sa Fourth Tranche Monthly Salary Schedule for Civilian Personnel of the National Government. “Malaking tulong po ito sa ating mga guro na ma-unload sila sa mga administrative work at maka-focus sa pagtuturo sa mga estudyante. By hiring non-teaching staff, our educators will be able to save a lot of time and effort,” pahayag ni Pangandaman. Ang mga inaprubahang item ay ide-deploy sa mga Schools Division Offices (SDOs) sa mga sumusunod na rehiyon: Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), CARAGA, National Capital Region (NCR), Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, at XII. Ang kakailanganing pondo naman para sa mga filled positions mula sa mga binuong position items ay kukunin sa Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund (MPBF) sa ilalim ng FY 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), habang ang Retirement and Life Insurance Premium naman ay magmumula sa Automatic Appropriations.
