Angara nangako sa pagtaas ng 2024 budget ng DOH, DepEd

Nangako si Senator Sonny Angara na kikilos at makikipagtulungan sa mga kapwa senador para madagdagan ang 2024 budget ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Health (DOH).

Tiniyak ito ni Angara kapag naipasa na ang pinal na bersyon ng 2024 national budget.

Pagbabahagi ng senador sa huling apat na taon na pangunguna sa pagbusisi sa General Appropriations Act bilang namumuno sa Senate Finance Committee, todo-suporta ang ibinibigay sa sektor ng edukasyon at kalusugan.

Aniya sa kanyang pagsusuri sa 2024 National Expenditure Program, nakakatiyak siya na may mga ahensiya na matatapyasan ang pondo dahil sa mga tinatawag na “non-recurring expenses.”

“This is primarily because of non-recurring expenses. These include infrastructure projects that are already implemented in the current year so the amounts for these are removed for next year’s budget proposals. But these budgets usually go up by the time we have gone through the budget process in the House and Senate,” dagdag ng senador.

Pagbabahagi pa niya nang maipasa ang 2023 GAA, P7 bilyon ang nadagdag sa pondo ng specialty hospitals ng DOH – Lung Center of the Philippines, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, Philippine Heart Center at ang Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care.

Dinagdagan din aniya ang pondo ng state colleges and universities (SUCs) sa mga nakalipas na taon.

Humihingi ang Malakanyang ng  P5.768 trillion national budget para sa susunod na taon.
