Villar: Pagtataguyod sa kababaihan, pagpapalakas ng pamilya hanggang bansa

Ito ang bahagi ng mensahe ni Sen. Cynthia Villar sa pagdiriwang ng ika-75 anibersaryo ng Young Women’s Christian Association of the Philippines (YWCA).
Aniya ang “women empowerment” ay higit pa sa pagbibigay proteksyon sa mga kababaihan laban sa karahasan at pang-aabuso.
Pagbabahagi niya, mga babae ang namumuno sa kanyang 3,000 community-based livelihood projects sa buong bansa at malaking tulong ito sa kabuhayan ng pamilya.
Kabilang sa kanilang mga proyekto ay handicraft-weaving enterprise, handmade paper factory, coconet-weaving enterprise, charcoal-making factory, organic fertilizer production, waste plastic recycling factories producing school chairs, bamboo processing, at agricultural programs sa mga farm tourism facilities at farm schools.
“Women are also vital contributors to economic growth. Empowered women augment their family’s income, put food on the table, and play significant roles in raising and educating their children and these well-bred and educated children will then become the future assets of our nation,” sambit pa ng senadora.
Pagtitiyak niya na kaisa siya ng YWCA sa adbokasiya na “women empowerment” lalo na ang mga nasa laylayan ng lipunan.
