Senate hearing magandang simula para mabusisi ang reclamation projects – Villar

Mula sa Senate Committee on Local Government nailipat na sa Senate Committee on Environment, na pinamumunuan ni Senator Cynthia Vilar, ang pagsasagawa ng pagdinig ukol sa reclamation projects sa Manila Bay.

Ito ang ibinahagi ni Villar sa isang news forum at aniya si Sen. JV Ejercito, na namumuno sa Committee on Local Govrnment, ang kumausap sa kanya.

Ayon kay Villar, magandang simulain na maimbestigahan sa Senado ang kontrobersiyal na proyekto at aniya naghahanda na siya para sa gagawing pagdinig, gayundin ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Makakabuti din na malaman ng publiko ang paliwanag ng Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) ukol sa pahintulot nila na matambakan ang malaking bahagi ng Manila Bay.

Sinabi ni Villar na ang ikinababahala ng marami ay ang mga masamang epekto na idudulot ng reclamation sa kalikasan, tulad ng pagbaha at ang pagkawala ng kabuhayan ng mga umaasa sa biyaya ng karagatan.

Umapila na rin ito sa publiko na samahan siya sa pangangalaga at pagbibigay proteksyon sa kalikasan dahil ito ay hindi magagawa ng isa o iilang tao lamang.

“I’m appealing to the people that if you support this course maybe you should be heard so that our  people from government will realize that this is a very popular course that we should preserve our environment for the future generation of Filipinos,” aniya.

Dagdag pa ng senadora: “It’s not only for us I mean it might not happen during our time but in the future the disaster will happen so if we want to protect our children and  the future generation of Filipinos we should work together because no person can do this alone we have to be together in this.”
