Sinang-ayunan ng 265 miyembro ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang rekomendasyon na patalasikin na si Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr.
Ginawa ng Committee on Ethics ang rekomendasyon dahil sa “disorderly behavior” at paglabag sa Code of Conduct ng Kamara.
Ipinunto ng komite na ang patuloy na pagiging absent without leave (AWOL) at ang paghirit nito ng political asylum sa Timor Leste ay maituturing ng pag-abandona sa kanyang tungkulin.
Nabanggit din sa rekomendasyon ang pagtukoy kay Teves bilang terorista at ang pagsayaw nito habang naka-video sa social media na panloob lamang ang suot ay maituturing kalapastanganan sa Kamara.
“The Committee finds that the gravity of the offenses committed by Rep. A. Teves, Jr. merits a heavier sanction in order to protect the dignity, integrity and reputation of the House of Representatives,” ayon sa ulat.
Nag-abstain naman sa pagboto si Makabayan Bloc members Arlene Brosas, France Castro at Raoul Manuel sa pagboto matapos kuwestiyonin ang pagsama sa mga dahilan ang pagtukoy ng Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) kay Teves bilang terorista.
