Hoarders at price manipulators ng bigas pinatutugis ng Malakanyang
Pinahahanap ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang mga negosyanteng ilegal na nag-iimbak ng bigas, gayundin ang nagmamanipula ng presyo.
Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, sapat ang suplay ng bigas sa bansa.
Sinasamantala aniya ng mga tiwaling negosyante ana hindi pa panahon ng tag-ani ng palay kung kaya pinatataas ang presyo ng bigas.
Ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO) nakikipag-ugnayan si Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa pribadong sektor para maayos ang presyuhan ng bigas at mabili ito ng murang halaga sa mga palengke at sa mga Kadiwa stores.
“Rice supply is sufficient. Prices are, however very variable. The government is working with the private sector to rationalize the prices and make available affordable rice in the market and in Kadiwa,” sabi ng Pangulo.
Sa monitoring ng Department of Agriculture, nasa P38-P40 kada kilo ang pinakamurang bigas habang ang iba ay naibebenta sa halagang P50 kada kilo.
Inatasan din ng Pangulo ang DA at Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na mahigpit na bantayan ang presyo ng bigas sa bansa.
