Pinag-aaralan na ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulator Board (LTFRB) ang hiling ng ilang transport groups para sa karagdagang P2 sa minimum fare sa pampasaherong jeepney.
Sinabi ni LTFRB chairman Teofilo Guadiz III naiintindihan nila ang sitwasyon ng jeepney operators at drivers ngunit hindi nila maaring agad-agad aprubahan ang hirit sa dagdag-pasahero dahil kailangan din isipin ang kapakanan ng mga komyuter.
“There are many factors to consider when reviewing fare hike petitions or requests. These factors should have to be carefully studied, reviewed and validated by the Board before we can allow any fare hikes,” ani Guadiz.
Dagdag pa nito, alam nila ang pangangailangan kayat magpupulong sila para suriin at pag-usapan ang merito ng dagdag-pasahe.
Noong nakaraang linggo, apat na transport groups ang hiniling sa ahensiya na itaas ang minimum fare dahil sa sunod-sunod na pagtaas sa halaga ng krudo.
