Pagsuspindi ng ERC sa “pasa tax” ng NGCP pinuri ni Gatchalian
Mabuting hakbang ang ginawa ng Energy Regulatory Commission na ipahinto sa National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) ang pagpapataw ng 3% franchise tax sa konsyumer.
Aniya maituturing na panalo ng konsyumer ang desisyon ng ERC dahil ilang taon nang ginagawa ng NGCP ang “pasa tax.”
“ I laud and fully support ERC for upholding consumer welfare in its decision. This is also a reminder for enterprises of the need to play fair and maintain corporate integrity,” sabi pa ni Gatchalian.
Kapag naipatupad mababawasan ng P0.0135 – P0.0165 per kilowatt hour o P37.32 kada taon ang mababawas sa bayarin sa kuryente ng konsyumer.
“I am confident that ERC will continue to thoroughly review industry practices with the goal of ensuring a balance of interests among stakeholders in the energy sector,” dagdag pa ni Gatchalian.
