Pangulong Marcos Jr., nadyahi sa maliit na “sports fund”
Nahihiya si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa maliit na pondo na inilalaan para sa mga atleta at coaches sa bansa.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa pamimigay ng isentibo sa Team Philippine medalists sa Cambodia SEA Games at ASEAN Paragames sa Malakanyang, sinabi nito limitado ang resources para sa mga ito.
“With admittedly limited resources, we are always — I am always a little embarrassed when I see that we are not supporting our athletes and our coaches and our trainers and all the support groups even the families,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Hindi maikakaila ayon sa Pangulo na hindi mag-isang nag-champion agn isang atleta. Tiyak kasi aniya na may katuwagn na coach, magulang at iba pa.
“So it seems that what we in government, considering the honor and the pride that you bring to the Philippines, it seems that it is not commensurate for the great service that you do to our country and to our people,” dagdag pa niya.
May plano aniya ang pamahalaan para suportahan ang mga atleta lalo na ang Philippine Team tulad nang pagbibigay ng mga coaches, trainers, nutritionists at mga drivers na maghahatid sa mga training.
“Susuklian naman namin ang inyong ginawang sakripisyo ang inyong dinala na dangal para sa ating mahal na Pilipinas kaya asahan ninyo na sa administrasyon na ito ay gagawin natin ang lahat para masuportahan natin at ipalabas natin ang kagalingan, ang husay ng ating atleta,” sabi pa ng Punong Ehekutibo.
