Air Asia maglalagak ng $1 bilyong puhunan sa Pilipinas

Target ng Air Asia na maglagak ng $1 bilyong puhunan para palawakin pa ang operasyon sa Pilipinas.

Ayon kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. bunga ito ng roundtable meeting sa mga negosyante sa Malaysia.

Sabi ng Pangulo, mismong ang chief executive officer ng Air Asia na si Tan Sri Anthony Francis Fernandez ang nangako na palalawakin pa ang operasyon nito sa bansa.

“Thank you. We’re all very happy that you have such good – you see such good prospects for the Philippines,” sabi ni Pangulong Marcos.

Sinabi naman ni Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual na nais ni Fernandez na tutukan ang aviation at aviation maintenance, repair at overhaul operations, Air Asia super app at logistics operations.

“We’re excited about what we can do in the Philippines and really stimulate small, medium enterprises … we are excited. We think we can bring a lot of value to the Philippines on logistics,” sabi ni Fernandez kay Pangulong Marcos.

“So, over the next few years, we think we’ll invest about one billion US dollars into the Philippines. We have about 300 million so far. We wanna grow our aircraft from 23 to 50 including wide-body aircraft … we are just applying for the license now,” dagdag ni Fernandez.
