$3 bilyong railway project nakuha ni Pangulong Marcos sa pagbisita sa Malaysia

Tatlong bilyong pisong proyekto ang nakuha ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. mula sa tatlong araw na state visit sa Malaysia.

Ayon kay Speaker Martin Romualdez, ito ay matapos mapagkasunduan ng Metro Pacific Investment Corp. (MPIC) at Hartasuma Sdn. Bhd. ng Malaysia ang pagtatayo ng rail-oriented projects sa Pilipinas.

“Literally, because of the visit, the President’s presence in KL [Kuala Lumpur] hastened the progress of this agreement and three billion will be pledged for investments into the Philippines,” pahayag ni Romualdez.

Bukod pa aniya ito sa $285  milyong negosyo na nakuha ni Pangulong Marcos mula sa Malaysian business leaders.

Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, sinabi ni Romualdez na nagkasundo ang dalawang kompanya na pangasiwaan ang railway engineering at maintenance, at iba pang rail-oriented projects.

Ang MPIC ay publicly-listed investment management holding company na may mga negosyo sa Pilipinas at South East Asia kabilang na ang power, toll roads, water, healthcare, agriculture, real estate at rail.

Ang Hartasuman naman ay pioneer sa rail industry sa Malaysia.
