May ilang gamit sa pag-aaral ang tumaas ang presyo, ayon sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Kasunod ito nang pagpapalabas ng kagawaran ng school supplies’ price guide.
Base sa price guide, nadagdagan ang presyo ng notebooks, pad paper, lapis, ballpen, erasers, crayons, sharpeners, at rulers.
Nabatid na ang dagdag-presyo sa mga gamit ay dahil naman sa pagtaas din ng halaga ng raw materials.
“While prices of some products have remained unaffected by recent market trends, other school supplies saw price increases. This is primarily due to increased global cost of basic raw materials,” ani Consumer Protection Group Undersecretary Ruth Castelo.
Ibinahagi ni Castelo na nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa manufacturers para naman matiyak na sapat ang suplay ng mga gamit sa pag-aaral sa merkado.
