Repatriation ng 56 na Filipino na nakakulong sa Malaysia, tatalakayin sa Oktubre

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA–Ididiga ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong”  Marcos Jr. sa Joint Commission Mechanism ang kapalaran ng 56 Filipino na nakakulong sa Malaysia. Sa tatlong araw na state visit ng Pangulo, sinabi nito na nakusap niya sina King of Malaysia, His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim para alamin ang lagay ng mga nakakulong sa Filipino. Mahigit sa 30 Filipino na nakakulong ang nahaharap sa parusang kamatayan. Sabi ng Pangulo, magpupulong ang JCM sa buwan ng Oktubre. Isa sa mga tatalakayin ay kung maaring iuwi na lamang sa Pilipinas ang mga nakakulong na Filipino sa Malaysia at pagsilbihan ang sentensya. “So, it was my suggestion to Prime Minister Anwar upon the briefing of the DFA, that we can take up the repatriation of Filipinos in the next convening of the Joint Commission,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos. “But yes, that’s essentially it because they have been — they are being repatriated because of… I guess although they consider themselves Filipinos, they consider also.. they are part of their ancestral land,” pahayag ng Pangulo. “So that’s where the differences lie. But when they apply Malaysian law, they are illegals. So yes, that is essentially what it boils down to,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
