Relasyon ng Pilipinas at Malaysia palalakasin para sa pagbangon sa pandemya
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Panahon na para suriin at muling palakasin ang relasyon ng Pilipinas at Malaysia habang patungo sa post-pandemic recovery.
Sa pakikipagpulong ni Pangulong Marcos kina Malaysia’s King Al-Sultan Abdullah at Queen Azizah, sinabi nito na mahalaga ang papel na ginagampanan ng dalawang bansa para tuluyang makabangon mula sa pandemya.
“It is time for us to really examine those relationship and restrengthen those relationship and that, for me, is the most important aspect of this visit that I have made to Kuala Lumpur, to Malaysia,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Binigyan ang Pangulo ng State Welcome Ceremony at 21-gun salute pagdating sa Istana Negara (Malaysia’s National Palace).
Kasama sa mga sumalubong kay Pangulo si Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at asawang si Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
“I believe that it is the way for us to refocus our efforts together to mutually beneficial initiatives for our two countries and to see how we can help one another as we face the post-pandemic future,” sabi pa ni Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Ayon pa rin sa Pangulo, ang pagiging kasapi ng Pilipinas at Malaysia sa Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) ay magiging sandalan para palakasin pa ang relasyon lalot dumaan sa matinding pagsubok ang mundo sa mahigit na dalawang taon bunsod ng pandemya sa COVID-19.
“We will play a very large part in that transformation. And that transformation is going to strengthen and made more stable by this partnership that we make with each other,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Dagdag pa niya: “And so, it becomes more and more important for me that these partnerships we will foster on a cultural level and the people-to-people (diplomacy) now continue to be expanded and to gain stature in the way that we promote that relationship between our two countries.”
