Tapos na ang pakikipag-usap ng Pilipinas sa International Criminal Court.
Pahayag ito ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. matapos magpasya ang ICC na ituloy ang imbestigasyon sa anti-drug war campaign na inilunsad ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Sa ambush interview kay Pangulong Marcos sa Zamboanga, sinabi nito na wala nang apela na gagawin ang Pilipinas.
“That’s it. We have no appeals pending. We have no more actions being taken. So, I suppose that puts an end to our dealings with the ICC,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“So, we continue to defend the sovereignty of the Philippines and continue to question the jurisdiction of the ICC in their investigations here in the Philippines,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Sabi ng Pangulo, walang aasahang kooperasyon ang ICC sa anumang uri ng imbestigasyon sa PIlipinas.
Iginiit pa ng Pangulo na walang hurisdiksyon ang ICC sa Pilipinas dahil noon pang Marso 2019 kumalas ang bansa sa international court.
Kumalas ang Pilipinas sa ICC isang taon matapos ipag-utos ni Duterte ang pagkalas ng bansa sa Rome Statute na nagtatag ng ICC.
Ginawa ito ni Duterte ang magpasya noon si dating ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda na ituloy ang preliminary examination.
“They (ICC prosecutors) are talking about Filipinos. Their alleged crimes are here in the Philippines; the victims are Filipino; bakit mapupunta sa The Hague? Kaya’t dito dapat,” oahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“Basta tapos na lahat ng ating pag-uusap sa ICC. Kagaya ng sinasabi namin mula sa simula, we will not cooperate with them in any way, or form,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Una nang sinabi ni Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra na ipinag-utos ng Pangulo na itigil na ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa ICC.
Utos pa ng Pangulo, tutukan na lamang ang imbestigasyon at prosekusyon sa mga krimen sa bans ana may kaugnayan sa anti-drug campaign.
