P18.25-M halaga ng puslit na sigarilyo huli sa Samal City
Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs ang P18.25 milyong halaga ng imported na sigarilyo sa Barangay Camudmud, Island Garden , Samal City.
Ayon sa BOC, nagsagawa ng joint maritime patrol ang kanilang hanay at Naval Forces sa naturang lugar kung saan nasabat ang 23,400 na ream ng ipuslit na sigarilyo.
Inaresto ang 10 crew members at sila ay nasa kustodiya na ngayon ng Sasa Police para sa pagssampa ng mga kaukulang kaso.
Nabatid na si BOC District Collector Guillermo Pedro Francia IV ang nag-isyu ng warrant of seizure and detention laban sa jungkung o motorized wooden boat kung saan nakalagay ang mga sigarilyo.
“We are extremely proud of the diligence and effectiveness of our customs officials in detecting and seizing this illicit shipment,” pahayag ni Francia.
