Ilalatag n ani Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa loob ng linggong ito ang El Niño mitigation plan.
Ito ay para matugunan ang krisis sa tubig sa bansa.
“We will have a planfor the mitigation of the effects of El Niño this week, I just spoke to the secretary of DENR this morning and she has told me that she will be prepared to make public what needs to be done,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos sa meeting sa Malakanyang.
“Presently, just to mitigate the effects of El Niño this coming-at least for this year, right now DENR, Public Works, Department of Agriculture especially National Irrigation Administration are working together,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Matatandaang nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Marcos ang Executive Order 22 na nagtatawag sa Water Resources Management Office na nasa ilalim ng DENR.
Sabi ng Pangulo, tutulong dito si dating Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson na isa ring water management expert.
“Because we have enough surface water. It’s just a question of protecting it. We are designing now a system of catchment basins not only for flood control,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
