Phivolcs sinabing may “increased activity” sa Bulkang Mayon
Nagpalabas ang Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ng bagong abiso ukol sa “increased activity” ng Mayon Volcano.
Base sa update ng Phivolcs, naobserbahan na nadagdagan ang pagkakaroon ng pyroclastic density current (PDC) sa nakalipas na 24 oras.
Nakapagtala ng 33 PDC events bunga ng “dome collapse” mula sa bibig ng bulkan simula ala-5 ng umaga kahapon.
Ang PDC ay pinaghalong pyroclastics, hot gases at abo.
“The PDCs travelled for approximately one to four minutes down the Mi-isi (south) and Bonga (southeastern) gullies within 3.3 kilometers of the crater,” ayon sa Phivolcs.
Umabot na sa 943 tons kada araw ang average na ibinubuga ng bulkan at nakapagtala naman ng 109 mahing low-frequency volcanic earthquakes.
