White Room Gallery ng Seameo Innotech sa QC bukas na
Pinangunahan ni dating Education Secretary Leonor Briones at Mayor Joy Belmonte ang pagbubukas ng bagong ‘White Room Gallery’ ng Seameo Innotech sa Quezon City.
Ayon kay Briones, layon ng Innotech na muling buhayin ang ugnayan ng sining at teknolohiya.
“One of the very important thrusts of Seameo Innotech is that technology, science, and the humanities cannot be separated. Even as there are so many wondrous things happening and evolving in technology, we must not forget that we are Filipinos, we must not forget our culture, we must not forget that we are humans,” ani Briones.
Kasabay ng inagurasyon ng White Room Gallery ang pagbubukas naman ng una nitong art exhibition na “UGMA: Ugnayan ng Sining at Teknolohiya” kung saan tampok ang mga obra ng Innotech 13 artists na sina Ramon Arsenio Acevedo, Hoche Magtolis Briones, Ryan Alison Cua, Denes Dasco, Joy Dasco, Jes Evangelista, Karen Fabie-Concepcion, Reymar Gacutan, Carmela Geisart, Jay Lozada, Nesty Angeles Ortiz, Byron Valenzuela, at Jefferson Villacruz.
Karamihan sa mga ito ay miyembro ng “ArtVocacy”, isang organisasyon na ginagawang tulay ang sining para makatulong sa mga kapos-palad nating kababayan, partikular na sa mga katutubong kabataan sa iba’t ibang panig ng Pilipinas.
Pinaghalong traditional, digital at 3D arts ang makikita sa nasabing exhibit.
Pinuri naman ni Belmonte ang inisyatibo ng Innotech na magbukas ng art gallery.
“I was very excited to come here today because for a very long time, I have not been invited to any openings of cultural and artistic exhibitions. Pero ngayon natutuwa ako na dumarami na ang exhibitions na nagbubukas sa ating lungsod. We support and welcome the White Room Gallery here in Quezon City,” ayon kay Belmonte.
Bukas sa publiko ang White Room Gallery na matatagpuan sa International House ng Seameo Innotech sa Diliman, Quezon City tuwing Martes hanggang Biyernes mula alas-9 ng umaga hanggang ala-5 ng hapon hanggang sa Setyembre 4.
