Smuggling sa sibuyas, pinaiimbestigahan ni Pangulong Marcos sa DOJ at NBI
Inatasan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang Department of Justice at National Bureau of Investigation na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon kaugnay sa smuggling, hoarding at price fixing ng sibuyas at iba pang produktong agrikultura.
Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, maituturing kasi na ecnomic sabotage ang ang smuggling.
“I have just given instructions to the DOJ and the NBI to initiate an investigation into the hoarding, smuggling (and) price fixing of agricultural commodities. And this is stemming from the hearing that we’ve conducted in the House, specifically by Congresswoman Stella Quimbo and the findings that they came up with,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Base sa uat ni Quimbo kay Pangulong Marcos, may nakitang sapat na ebidensya ang House Committee on Agriculture and Food para matukoy ang onion cartel sa bansa dahilan para tumaas ang presyo ng sibuyas noong 2022.
Sabi ni Quimbo, ang naturang cartel ay nag-ooperate sa ilalim ng
Philippine VIEVA Group of Companies Inc. (PVGCI) na sangkot sa farming, importation, local trading, warehousing, at logistics.
Sabi ng Pangulo, sapat na basehan na ito para magsagawa ng imebstigasyon.
“And that is why we are going to be very, very strict about finding these people and making sure that they are brought to justice,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
