El Niño nagsimula na sa Tropical Pacific sabi ng PAGASA
Nagsimula na sa Tropical Pacific ang mahinang El Niño, ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Sa inilabas na pahayag ng ahensiya nagpapakita na ng senyales ng paglakas ng El Niño sa mga darating na buwan.
“El Niño increases the likelihood of below-normal rainfall conditions, which could bring negative impacts such as dry spells and droughts in some areas of the country which may adversely impact the different climate-sensitive sectors such as water resources, agriculture, energy, health, and public safety,” paliwanag pa ng PAGASA.
Sa pagtatapos ng taon hanggang sa unang kalahati ng 2024 lubos na mararamdaman ang epekto ng El Niño, kung kailan malaking bahagi ng bansa ang makakaranas ng tag-tuyot.
Dagdag pa ng PAGASA na dahil sa habagat may mga bahagi ng bansa ang makakaranas pa ng “above-normal rainfall conditions” sa kanlurang bahagi.
