“Creative lapse.”
Ito ang pagsasalarawan ni Senator Nancy Binay sa bagong promotional video ng Department of Tourism (DOT).
Aniya dapat ay may managot sa insidente dahil pera ng taumbayan ang ginastos.
Sinabi pa ng namumuno sa Senate Committee on Tourism na dapat ay maitama ni Tourism Sec. Christina Frasco ang pagkakamali.
“We expect Sec. Frasco to make right whatever went wrong, and ensure that the integrity of our brand will not be diminished due to an ‘oversight’,” dagdag pa ng senadora.
Sinabi pa nito na sa kanyang palagay ay may naging kapabayaan din sa bahagi ng kagawaran dahil lumusot ang promotional video.
“Di nga ba we are supposed to show authenticity? Ang ganitong mga promotional anomaly directly affect the travelers’ decisions, and at the same time portray a negative image of how we promote our destinations,” ayon pa kay Binay.
Dagdag pa niya: “Sa ngayon, may bahid na ng pagdududa kung anuman ang susunod na TV ad o promotional material ng DOT. At tila masamang pangitain ito dahil mukhang di pa rin po tayo natututo sa mga nakaraang nangyari dala ng hindi original logo, slogan, design o video clip.”
Diin lang niya dapat ay magpatuloy pa rin ang pag-aalok sa Pilipinas bilang tourism destination sa kabila ng pangyayari.
“Baka pwede pa naman ibalik si ‘Fun’ dahil sa problema ni ‘Love’ ngayon,” aniya patukoy na dating slogan ng DOT na “It’s More Fun in the Philippines.”
