Hontiveros hihingi ng suporta sa mga kapwa senador sa UN reso
Pursigido si Senator Risa Hontiveros na maiparating sa United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) ang isyu ng patuloy na panghihimasok ng China sa teritoryo sa Pilipinas.
Ayon kay Hontiveros, pagsusumikapan niya na makuha ang suporta ng mayorya ng mga kapwa senador para sa resolusyon na layon maiparating sa UN General Assembly ang mga aktibidad ng China sa West Philippine Sea.
Naunang inihain ni Hontiveros ang Senate Resolution No. 659, na nanawagan sa gobyerno na gumawa ng resolusyon sa UNGA na mananawagan sa China na itigil na ang harassment ng mga Filipino vessel sa WPS.
“I am positive that the majority of my colleagues in the Senate will support this resolution. In fact, I look forward to and am grateful for Senate President Migz Zubiri’s text that my resolution will be scheduled for adoption,” ani Hontiveros.
Una nang nagpahayag ng kanyang suporta sa resolusyon si Sen. Francis Tolentino, gayundin sina Sens. Sonny Angara, JV Ejercito at Jinggoy Estrada.
