LTO hinikayat ng DOTr chief na manguna sa adbokasiya na ligtas na kalsada
Inatasan ni Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista ang mga tauhan ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) na maging frontliner sa road safety advocacy.
Sa talumpati ni Bautista sa LTO Regional Director’s Conference, sinabi ng kalihim na crucial role ang ginagampanan ng LTO personnel para sa kaligtasan ng mga motorista at pedestrian.
Sabi ni Bautista, dapat bigyang diin ang defensive driving education.
“You must remember that your agency is not merely charged with the issuance of driver’s licenses, motor vehicle registration and vehicle plates. The higher dimension of your mandate is keeping our roads safe,” sabi ni Bautista.
Dagdag pa niya: “Try to understand the urgency of road safety promotion. One fatality due to a road crash is, for me, too many.
Paalala pa ng kalihim sa LTO personnel na panatilihin ang mantra na ligtas sa kalsada.
“The LTO is at the frontline of this advocacy. The higher dimension of your mandate is keeping our roads safe,” pahayag ni Bautista.
Base sa data sa United Nations (UN), nasa 11,000 katao ang namamatay sa Pilipinas kada taon dahil sa drunk driving, over speeding, texting while driving, at human error.
