Modernisasyon ng sektor ng pagniniyog ipinag-utos ni PBBM
Inatasan ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) na palakasin pa ang implementasyon ng development plan para sa modernisasyon ng mga magsasaka ng niyog.
“So, the PCA must intensify the implementation of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan to accelerate the modernization of the coconut industry and to improve the lives of our coconut farmers and their families,” sabi ng Pangulo sa ika-50 anibersaryo ng PCA sa Pasay City.
Dagdag pa niya: “As we reflect upon the last half-century, we are reminded of the valued history of the PCA, and the challenges that it has withstood to get to where it is today.”
Hinikayat pa ng Pangulo ang PCA na iangat ang pamumuhay ng mga magsasaka ng niyog at dapat aniyang harapin ang mga problema ng mga magsasaka gaya na lamang ng coconut industry—climate change, peste, at iba pang sakit ng niyog.
“So, let us double our efforts to tackle these issues and invest in technologies and initiatives that will not only safeguard but also ensure the resilience of the coconut sector of our agriculture,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Sabi pa ng Pangulo, mahalaga na mapangalagaan ang sektor ng niyog lalo’t isa ito sa mga hanap buhay ng mga Filipino.
Bilang simbolo, nagtanim si Pangulo ng puno ng niyog sa Coconut Palace sa Pasay City.
