Rice Tarrification Law kinilala ng World Bank, Sen. Cynthia Villar natuwa
Napatunayan na tama ang pagsusulong ni Senator Cynthia Villar ng Rice Tarrification Law.
Kasunod ito ng pagkilala ng World Bank (WB) sa naturang batas bilang “strategy policy reform” kasabay nang paglulunsad ng “Agriculture Public Expenditures Review.”
Dumalo sa pagtitipon sina WB Operations Manager Mr. Achim Fock, at ang European Union (EU) ay kinatawan ni Head of Cooperation EU Delegation to the Philippines Christoph Wagner, gayundin sina WB Senior Agriculture Economist Anuja Kar at WB Practice Manager Dina Umali-Deininger.
Pinuri naman nina Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) Senior Research Fellow Dr. Roehlano Briones at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Monetary Board Member Dr. V. Bruce Tolentino ang batas dahil napapaghugutan ito ng P10 bilyon kada taon para sa Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).
Ang mga kinikita mula sa taripa ay ibinabahagi sa mga magsasaka na kabilang sa Registry System of Basic Sectors (RSBSA)bilang tulong sa pagkakaroon ng mga makinarya, high quality inbred rice seeds, pagsasanay at pautang.
Naging ganap na batas ang RA 11203 noong 2019.
