Air Passenger Bill of Rights nais pagtibayin ng mga senador
Nais ng ilang senador na mapagtibay pa ang air passengers rights upang bigyan sila ng konkretong proteksyon laban sa mga isyu sa kanilang pagbiyahe.
Napagkasunduan ito sa pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Tourism, sa pamumuno ni Sen. Nancy Binay, ukol sa mga reklamo sa serbisyo ng Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), Philippine Airlines (PAL), at Air Asia.
“This pressing public service issue calls for urgent effective solutions as it involves not only the air passengers’ rights, but also the overall impact on the country’s tourism and economy,” ani Sen. Grace Poe, ang namumuno naman sa Senate Committee on Public Service.
Ipinunto naman ni Binay na hindi nasusunod ang Air Passenger Bill of Rights patunay na lamang sa napakaraming reklamo ng mga pasahero.
“Dito sa APBR, napakaminimal nung kelangan gawin ng airline. Ang kailangan lang nila, rebook, refund, tapos bahala ka na sa buhay mo kung saan ka kakain at kung saan ka matutulog,” paghihimutok ng senadora.
Nanawagan naman si Sen. Ronald dela Rosa sa Civil Aviation Board (CAB) na suriin ang mga ginagawa ng airline companies sa mga pasahero lalo na sa isyu ng “overbooking” at “denied boarding.”
Pinuna naman ni Sen. Raffy Tulfo ang CAB dahil sa kabiguan na madisiplina ang mga airline companies sa kabila nang madalas na pakikipagpulong.
Pagbabahagi naman ni Sen. Christopher Go nagselebra siya ng kaarawan sa airport dahil sa naantala ang kanyang biyahe sa Cebu Pacific, na na aniya ay pambihirang pagkakataon.
“I am urging Cebu Pacific to acknowledge the impact of these incidents on the affected passengers, particularly OFWs and tourists who rely heavily on your services. They deserve your utmost sympathy and support,” sabi pa ni Go.
