Walang puwang sa modernong sosyodad ang fake news.
Pahayag ito ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa 14th edition ng International Conference of Information Commissioners sa Pasay City.
Sa talumpati ng Pangulo, sinabi nito na malaking tulong ang Freedom of Information program para labanan ang misinformation at disinformation sa bansa.
“Of course, we also have to highlight that the FOI Program has greatly advanced the campaign against misinformation and disinformation in the country. A problem that we in the Philippines also suffer from as I guess all of us do around the world,”’ pahayag ng Pangulo.
“Like everyone here, we too recognize as a matter of principle that fake news should have no place in modern society,” pahayag ng Pangulo
Sabi ng Pangulo, magsasagawa ang administrasyon ng media at information literacy campaign.
Gagawin ito sa pamamagitan ng digital multi-media at youth oriented.
Pagtitiyak ng Pangulo, patuloy na itataguyod ng administrasyon ang freedom of information sa pamamagitan ng Presidential Communications Office.
Panawagan ng Pangulo, ibigay sa taong bayan ang freedom of information hindi lamang sa sangay ng ehekutibo kundi sa lahat ng tanggapan ng pamahalaan.
Sinabi naman ni PCO Secretary Cheloy Garafil na bilang host ngayong taon, pagpapatunay ito na kinikilala ng Pilipinas ang malayang pamamahayag.
