Hirit ni Biden na tanggapin ni Pangulong Marcos ang Afghan refugees pinag-aaralan pa

Kinumpirma ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang na personal na hiniling ni US President Joe Biden kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na tanggapin ang mga Afghan refugees.

Ginawa ni Biden ang hirit kay Marcos nang magkaroon ng state visit ang punong ehekutibo sa Washington, D.C noong buwan ng Mayo.

Ayon kay Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil, pinag-aaralan pa ng administrasyon ang hiling ni Biden.

“It’s a request from the United States government. The request is currently under evaluation,” pahayag ni Garafil.

Una rito, sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo na kinausap ni Biden si Pangulong Marcos para tanggapin sa Pilipinas ang mga Afghan refugees.

Sa pagdinig sa Senado, sinabi ni Manalo na ilang beses na ilang beses na rin siyang kinausap ni US Secretary of State Antony Blinken kaugnay sa naturang usapin.
